The man in the center of the the controversial fuel subsidy bribe Hon. Farouk Lawan has been ordered to remain in kuje prison custody until February 8, when the court will rule on his bail application.
The application was submitted by his team of  lawyers led by Mr. Rickey Tarfa and Chief Mike Ozhekome, both senior advocates of Nigeria.

The Controversial FCT Minister Sen. Mohammed Bala is yet again in the media for a bogus budget of over 253 Billion Naira of which:

- 4 Billion Naira is for the construction of a First Lady’s “mission building;”
- 150 Million Naira is for the renovation of the vice president's Guest House in Asokoro;
- 5 Billion Naira is for the rehabilitation of commercial sex workers and the destitute; and
- 7 Billion Naira is for the construction of two city gates in the FCT.

An appeal court sitting in Lagos, Nigeria has upheld the death sentence slammed on the Notorious Preacher Chukwuemeka Ezeugo popularly know as  Rev. King.

The appeal court said, the earlier lower court acted with the view of justice and equity.

Henry Okah Convicted of 2010 Independence Day Bombing

A South African court sitting in Johannesburg has convicted the former Niger - Delta Miltant of Terror attack on 2010 Independence Day.
It will be recalled that when Nigeria was celebrating its 50th Independence Anniversary on 1st October, 2010, there was a bomb explosion which claims not fewer than 12 lives.
Okah was convicted of 13 count changes bordering on conspiracy to commit terrorism and detonating bomb which claims lives.
Although Okah has denied involvement in the attacks and also denies being the leader of the group
"The evidence that was given by his accomplices was not contradicted," Judge Claassen said, Reuters news agency reports.

The New Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria, MBGN 2012 has Emerged. She was announced yesterday 5th May 2012 at an event marking the 25th Anniversary of Silverbird MBGN.
The MBGN 2012 is Miss Isabella Ayuk from Cross Rivers State. She is 25 years old and had previously contested for Miss Nigeria 2004. She has survived stiff compettion to beat Miss Kaduna the 3rd Runner up, Miss Abuja the 2nd Runner up and Miss Rivers the 1st Runner up. 32 Contestants participated in this years MBGN 2012.
The MBGN 2012 went home with a brand new Toyota Corolla from the Edo State Government and receives a cash prize and N1,000,000 Cartier watch from Polo Limited.
The show was anchored Silverbird’s Toke Makinwa and Chris Okenwa. On stage were Banky W, Chuddy K and 2face Idibia who gleefully announced: “I don marry now o!”
Miss Sylvia Nduka won the previous edition of MBGN2011.

Former Nigerian Start Rashidi Yekini Is Dead


          Rashidi Yekini, a one time Nigerian Football Star, a two-times record holder of African footballer of the year title and an all-time highest goal scorer for the Super Eagles is dead!. A source says he died in a private hospital in Ibadan yesterday after a prolonged illness stemming from some neurological disease. He was 49 years old when he passed away.
          His remains will be buried today according to Muslim rites at Ira, Kwara State. He is survived by 3 wives and 3 children. May his soul rest in perfect peace amen.

          Its a goodnews for Arsenal Fans as they will be able to see their club players live as they will be storming Abuja This August. 
         One of the giants of English Premier League is coming to Nigeria for the first time and to African after 19 years when they came to South Africa in 1993.

         Nigeria which is the most populous nation in Africa undoubtedly has the largest football fan base in Africa. This will in way boast there popularity in the country and and will smell more business for the English side. Arsenal who usually host emirate cup at there home during pre-season had to postpone it for a year because of the 2012 London Olympic.
        The home for the game will be Abuja National Stadium which has a capacity of about 16,000. I hope it will be enough to host all the football loving fans in Nigeria.
